Part of Hillingdon Council's 2030 net zero ambitions, the Hillingdon Sports & Leisure Complex athletic track building - 250-seat grandstand, changing and equipment rooms, refreshment and exercise areas – was heated via gas boiler technology until replaced with a Nova Series 220kW heat pump.

Challenge

·        Support the municipality’s ambitious Strategic Climate Action Plan.

·        Gas boiler and direct fired gas calorifiers providing heating for the grandstand building.

Solution

·        Decommissioning of the existing gas boiler technology.

·        No large-scale alteration to the existing heating system.

·        Discrete and quiet outdoor installation adjacent to the grandstand building.

·        Centrally controlled Nova Series module providing 220kW delivery at full duty.

Result

·        Complete removal of fossil fuel heating technology from the building.

·        An expected annual CO₂ emissions reduction of approximately 70 tonnes.
